Saskatchewan District Report

Date:      September 2007

District 18

Saskatchewan Representative

Andy Anderson

Hi folks,

Our District 18 Reps met in Regina for our semi-annual meeting. Present were representatives from the 4 American States, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and Utah along with Alberta and Saskatchewan representatives. Also attending was Dick Anderson, our National  representative. Other attendees were our tournament coordinator and WASUMI webmaster Claire Jones, Steve Bates the head director and ACBL Board of Directors Treasurer & D17 Board, Jerry Fleming (guest). The minutes may be found on the Wasumi Site -   http://www.wasumi.org/

Some of the minute highlights:

For those who have attended our Regionals, you might have noticed they run a “lucky draw” – The prize stays the same - the winner of the Lucky Draw receives free plays (18) for one (1) player at a future D18 Regional. It was decided the prize may be transferred to another individual but must used within two (2) years following the win.

Our Regional guidelines underwent a major updating. This document sets out policies and instruction for Regional Tournament managers.  There were increases for bulletins to $750, novice programs to $500, and caddies to $35/session.

The “A/B/C GNT”s will be held in a still undisclosed site in Montana May 9-11, The Open - Flight (previously called the Super “A” and was limited to someone on team holding 5000+ MP’s will be run in Lethbridge (Apr 6/7) which will align with Lethbridge’s regional beginning on the 7th of Apr. Plan to attend! Check with your local club to see when GNT qualification games are run.

Thanks all,

Andy Anderson

Saskatchewan rep
